What You Need To Know About Ford Electric Vehicles

2019 Fusion Hybrid

  • Trim Levels

The 2019 Fusion Hybrid is a four-door midsize sedan. It is offered in four different trim levels: S, SE, Platinum and Titanium. All trim levels of the sedan have the same engine which is a 2.0-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle inline-four engine with a permanent-magnet AC-synchronous electric motor. 

  • Power and Performance

 The combined horsepower is 188 while the gas engine generates a 129 lb.-ft. of torque. The capacity of Lithium battery fitted in the sedan is 1.4 kWh. All Fusion Hybrid models come with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission that increases fuel economy significantly. The fuel economy of the Fusion Hybrid is 43 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway. Other common features between all trim levels are regenerative braking system and a tire inflator and sealant kit. 

  • Interior and Infotainment 

The base model has fabric-trimmed seats while higher-end models get leather-trimmed seats. For entertainment, you get AM/FM stereo/single-CD player with MP3 capability and nine speakers. The Hybrid Platinum and Hybrid Titanium have a Sony Audio system with 11 speakers. 

  • Safety and Driver-Assist Features

The Fusion Hybrid comes with a huge list of driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert, and Lane-Keeping System. The driver-assist features are standard for Hybrid Titanium while available as a package for the Hybrid SE and Hybrid Platinum. The base model (Hybrid S) does not come with any driver-assist features mentioned above. The standard safety features include dual-stage front airbags, knee airbags for front occupants and side curtain airbags for all occupants.

2019 Fusion Energi

  • Trim Levels


The 2019 Fusion Energi is a mid-size sedan with a passenger capacity of five. The sedan only has one trim level, which is the Fusion Energi Titanium. The Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid which means it also comes with a charging port, something that is not available in the Fusion Hybrid. 

  • Power and Performance

The Fusion Energi is powered by the same engine as the Fusion Hybrid and gets the same power and fuel economy. The standard features in the Fusion Energi are active noise control, front-wheel drive, electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and regenerative braking system. 

  • Interior and Infotainment 

The base model has a Sony audio system with 12 more speakers. 

  • Safety and Driver Assist

This plug-in hybrid car comes with good safety features like dual-stage front airbags, knee airbags for front occupants and side-curtain airbags for front and rear passengers. The car also comes with driver-assist features like blind spot information with cross-traffic alert and a lane-keeping system. The latter includes lane-keeping assist, lane-keeping alert and driver alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and dynamic brake support.
